I would do anything between the top 4-inch backsplash and cherry cabinets. I have several interchanges and a kitchen with an island hood. My accents of red clay (Canaster)., Are appliances, stainless steel and black. I thought about adding a number of tiles on the shelves, but I have never seen pictures from there with the idea. Is it too much?

I do not think it would be. Now there are a variety of beautiful glass tiles out there that would be fantastic. I recommend, renovated in magazines for the kitchen and www.hgtv.com

Splashes of stainless steel or glass tiles. You can find both at the local Home Depot or Lowe's!
